Company was established by Pekka Nikander. The name “Nixu” derives from his family name, the Unix operating system and the computer student lab of the Helsinki University of Technology nicknamed “Niksula” where Mr. Nikander worked while studying.

Nixu participates in Cyberlympics hacking competition for the first time, coming in at 4th place. Nixu publishes several papers on current information security topics and runs a survey to uncover positions toward NSA spying.
