Hygiene is number one in preventing diseases from spreading, but what about the digital world? Let's talk about cyber hygiene...

Make sure you have an up-to-date antivirus to filter out viruses from the files you receive. Use antivirus

 

Wash your hands often.
Pay attention to how to dispose of confidential information. In the digital world, use encryption for all disks and remember to securely wipe all drives and removable media when you get rid of them.
 
Encrypt your disks and wipe them securely Throw away your disposable paper tissues after you sneeze.
Don't let anyone else use your devices and don't leave them unattended. Do not use other devices than your employer-provided computers and phones. Use only your employer-provided devices

 

Avoid touching your face.
Use a Virtual Private Network (VPN) to connect to your work environments. Use a VPN

 

Keep your distance.
Security patches are the medicine for computers. Don't skip them! Make sure you install security updates regularly. Install security patches

 

Keep a supply of food and medicine.
If you suspect that you're about to open a phishing email, click a link to a fraudulent site, or download malware, stay away. If you suspect a fraudulent email or file, don't open it.

 

If you feel sick, stay home.
