Nixu's Customer Receives the First PCI Security Certificate in Finland
Nixu, Helsinki 25 October 2006
Screenway Ltd, a software and consulting company specialized in retail payment systems, has become the first payment service provider in Finland to receive a PCI Certificate. Nixu facilitated the process in the capacity of a Visa-authorized auditor and a Mastercard-authorized vulnerability assessor.
PCI Standard has been designed to prevent payment card frauds by focusing on secure processing of payment card information in applications and networks. Any companies and vendors processing payment card information are expected to adhere to the standard.
Said Sami Toivonen, Marketing Director of Screenway: "In countries where PCI standard has been rolled out, the number of payment service providers has plummeted. To provide continuity for our customers, Screenway is expected to adhere to PCI standards in this highly regulated market. The local presence and expertize of our auditor were essential in completing this extensive process succesfully."
Said Jonna Särs, VP, Information Security, CISSP, QSAP: "For Nixu, performing the first PCI audit for a Finnish payment service provider has been very rewarding. This goes to show that the persistant information security work and the investments we have made in developing Nixu's PCI practice have prooved to be a success." "Screenway saw PCI as an opportunity to develop their business as well as the level of their information security, not just as a mandatory expense." continues Timo Vehviläinen, head of Nixu's PCI practice.
