Nokia Veteran to Boost the Growth of Information Security and Software Development Firm
Nixu, a company known for its expertise in Information Security and Software Development, is increasing its sales rapidly. The growth has been attained by balancing the company's product and services portfolio, and is amplified by the generally positive market outlook. To maintain the momentum, former Vice President, EMEA Sales of Nokia Networks, Timo Kotilainen, has been appointed as the new CEO of Nixu.
Rabbe Mattila, the former CEO of Nixu, expects that by the end of Nixu's current fiscal year closing on March 31, 2006, the revenue will have grown by roughly 60% year-on-year. "Our growth target for the next fiscal year is set nearly as high and to achieve it, we need such international experience that Timo Kotilainen brings with him. Before Nixu, Timo Kotilainen held a position of Vice President, EMEA Sales in Nokia Networks."
Rabbe Mattila will continue his work at Nixu as Senior Vice President, Software Development. Existing Member of Nixu Board, Kimmo Rasila, has assumed a new role as the Chairman of Nixu Board of Directors.
Timo Kotilainen, the former Chairman of Nixu Board of Directors, expects to sustain Nixu's growth by broadening the Information Security Service offering and by strengthening the customer focus in software development. New resources needed for the growth will be recruited from both Finland and abroad, as Kotilainen expects to hire 20 new software developers and information security consultants.
More than half of Nixu's revenue is derived from the Telecom sector. The company is looking to diversify its operations by expanding its accounts within both Financial Services and Governmental sectors.
"It's always a challenge to sustain and manage rapid growth. The fact that Nixu is well-known for its high ethics and the quality of its offerings makes this that much more interesting. The management of large accounts and projects are also areas I will be focusing on."
Strong Foothold in the Middle East
Nixu has a strong foothold in the Middle East from where it derives one third of its turnover. The region has some hyper growth areas such as Dubai. According to Kotilainen, the region continues to show demand for solution providers that can combine information security, data communications, and network monitoring. Says Kotilainen: "There aren't that many software companies in the world that have as much experience as Nixu from Lawful Interception of network traffic. The demand for expertise in areas such as this is also on the rise within the EU."
