Saku
Saku joined Nixu in 2006. He works as a consultant in the Build business unit. Saku is originally from Kuopio, but lives currently in Helsinki. He is confident that the varied experience he has gained in the telecommunications business is a solid foundation on which to develop the Build business unit.
“I came to Nixu from a very big organisation and immediately noticed how a smaller organisation can be so much more flexible.”
I was – and continue to be – impressed with Nixu’s high level of technical expertise and genuine team spirit.
Of course, build projects can be demanding when you’re designing user privilege and access management systems for major customers. But motivated colleagues and interesting tasks keep you going even if you occasionally have to work overtime. What’s most important is that the customer gets the best possible solution for them and the necessary know-how to keep it up and running.
Maintaining and applying your competencies is an important part of everyday consulting work. That is why Nixu offers consultants an opportunity to complete different certifications and use so-called InnoTime to pursue personal learning projects.
You can’t – and why should you – try to remember to everything, because you can always consult with a colleague. Continuously changing legislation, IT administration recommendations and standards, as well as process and IT technical details can cause a bad case of information overload. In my case, managing this flood of knowledge has become an important skill over the years.”
Saku has noticed that his family gives meaning to things and a sense of continuity to an otherwise hectic professional life. He also enjoys travelling and visiting his summer cottage. “You forget your professional concerns, when you begin your holiday with a short overseas trip and then visit your summer cottage with your family. Pet projects also help you relax and build something you can admire in the future.”
